Phallus multicolor

Phallus multicolor is a pink to orange stinkhorn that is phallic shaped with a pink to orange lace network suspended from the cap.

The stem is smooth, spongy, dry and hollow. The cap is orange at first, and then becomes covered in olive gtreen to brown slime. The fungus grows from an 'egg' with white rhizomorphs at its base.

Phallus multicolor is sometimes called Dictophora multicolor. It smells strongly of rotting meat or sewage.
