Zelleromyces sp

Zelleromyces sp, orange to orange white, berry like, with convoluted tissues of light orange to pink forming a complex internal structure. These were frequently spotted on the ground, usually where bush turkeys had been scratching. Mild, pleasant smell, agreeable taste. No latex present (see Fuhrer p 240).
