Of recreation there is none
So free as Fishing is alone;
All other pastimes do no less
Than mind and body both possess:
My hand alone my work can do,
So I can fish and study too.

Uknown, hygrocybe, hygrophorus

Blackbutt Creek Walk, Killara and Gordon, Sydney Australia, March 21, 2008, white cap, depressed center, lots of dirt on cap, in leaf litter, cream gills, distant, stout stem, snaps like russula, common, no latex (but old specimens). Distant gills makes us think not a lactarius, but apart from cap and stem color, very similar in morphology to lactarius clarkeae ref 2008032201 Picture ref: 903 Gallery ref: 23
