Unknown species
Unknown species NSW, Sydney, West Pymble, Gloucester Avenue Fire trial, Lane Cove National Park in soil in Eucalypt forest, growing in large groups with bases joined June 25, 2006. Cap width 70mm thickness 20mm, slightly burnt smell, cap with small central depression, convez, chocloate brown, greasy, leathery. Cap margin striate, split, irregular. Gills adnate subdistant, wide, alternate short/long gills, slightly paler brown than cap, Gills separate from cap easily, vary greatly in width and length. Some very wide. Gills eroded. Stipe fibrous, slnder rather than stout, attachment central. Stipe 50mms high, 8mm thick. Flesh white, stem flsh slightly yellow to brown. Picture ref: 353 Gallery ref: 6
