Zelleromyces sp

Zelleromyces sp, orange to orange white, berry like, with convoluted tissues of light orange to pink forming a complex internal structure. This photo also shows a lacelike pattern on the outside surface, not immediately apparent to the naked eye. Fungi is about 50mms diameter. These were frequently spotted on the ground, usually where bush turkeys had been scratching. Mild, pleasant smell, agreeable taste. No latex present (see Fuhrer p 240).
